It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
The holiday season, the snowfall… But the most wonderful time of the year can turn into a mess if you aren’t prepared! Here are some tips on prepping your home for any inclement winter weather:
- Examine your home heating and air conditioning — better to find any potential flaws in your HVAC in the fall than to wait for it to kick the bucket in the winter!
- Seal your home exterior, masonry and any hard surfaces — fill in cracks and apply sealer so water doesn’t seep in and freeze, causing damage!
- Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors — having fully functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors is GRAVELY important. Test units and replace batteries at least once a month.
- Keep VARMINTS out of the attic — branches growing near the attic? You’ve got yourself a squirrel bridge right into your home. Make sure any critter entryways are blocked off and sealed.
